this is monue

monue is the name of my late grandma from liberia — a confident black woman with a strong sense of style and a love for jewellery. she had pieces that were completely her, unique and full of character, and some of them are still in my jewellery box today. wearing them is where my own love for jewellery started.

her name, monue, translates to “you did it” — something that feels even more meaningful to me now. when i started creating jewellery, i wanted to carry a little piece of her with me, while building something of my own.

she’s no longer with us, but her passion lives on through monue — a little reminder to celebrate what you’ve done, where you’ve come from, and everything that’s still ahead.
